Live Zoom Modules starting July 6

We will make up for the content missed by having to cancel the in-person bootcamp with live Zoom sessions and other activities starting July 6.

Please plan to participate in the Live Zoom Schedule below.

Week of July 6 – you will receive a group design thinking assignment. In groups of four, you will need to arrange your own time to meet to discuss. More details to come by July 1.

July 17 (Friday), 3pm CT (4pm ET; 1pm PT) – Live Zoom – Cindy will review an exercise on interactive JavaScript.

July 24 (Friday), 3pm CT (4pm ET; 1pm PT) – Live Zoom – Kelly Kaufhold on Data Journalism. This is also the week of ISOJ – which is online and free this year, in which Cindy will be speaking on a panel with Product professionals. That panel is Thursday at 4pm CT. See the Schedule. The entire thing is free, and you can register at the link to watch (and participate) on the platform. But they will also be live streaming on their YouTube channel.

July 31 (Friday), 3pm CT (4pm ET; 1pm PT) – Live Zoom – Dale Blasingame on Social Media exercise; questions on drone material.

August 4 (Tuesday before AEJMC) 3pm CT (4pm ET; 1pm PT) – Jon Zmikly will cover the VR/360 video exercise.

August 14 (Friday) 3pm CT (4pm ET; 1pm PT) – Turn in Curriculum Project. Wrap up, discussion of AEJMC and other trends and graduation from the PhDigital Bootcamp. We will be joined by Amanda Bright, University of Georgia (PhDigital 2018) and Kirstin Pellizzaro, University of South Carolina (PhDigital 2019) for a discussion on how they have used PhDigital topics and the path ahead for curriculum and research.






Topics may be adjusted as we learn more about participant backgrounds and interests.
